At Intersolar NA, we spoke with Arthur Chien, CEO of Talesun who was telling us about his company plans to reach 3GW of module production capacity in 2013 and what was more interesting how he imagine to sell these huge amounts of modules.

Talesun Solar Corporation is a manufacturer of crystalline photovoltaic solar cells, solar modules and custom PV applications located in Changshu, China. The company was incorporated September 9th of 2010 and began construction of manufacturing facilities in October, 2010. Our initial cell lines were installed in a leased building in January of 2011, with trial production beginning March of 2011.

We will complete construction of our main plant in August of 2010 with an initial cell capacity of 540 MW. The main plant is 200,000 square meters in size and has facilities and auxiliary equipment for up to 2 GW of cell and module capacity. The plant process equipment features complete automation of both cell fabrication and module assembly using first rate European and Japanese equipment and can support both selective emitter cell production and multiple pass screen printing from the outset ? the only solar facility in China with this standard of equipment and level of automation.

The manufacturing operations are supported by active R&D, product development and testing teams with an in-house testing and research laboratory adjacent to the plant.

Business operations will initially be located in Munich, Germany; San Francisco, U.S.A.; and Shanghai, China. These offices will include full local marketing, technical and logistics support for our customers. We plan to expand our international presence in new solar markets as these markets grow and develop.

Our management team consists of experienced solar veterans coupled with a healthy complement of scientists and engineers experienced both in semi-conductor processes as well as product design and assembly.
