While in Berlin for the Semi 4th PV Fab managers forum we got the opportunity to speak with some of the most important players who are participating in the discussions over the future standardisation of the SolarPV industry.

The photovoltaics industry is on the verge of becoming a true mass production industry. It is for this reason aswell as a current annual turnover of $100 billion that makes the introduction of standards imperitive for the survival of the SolarPV industry and its future growth.

We were lucky to speak with:

Prof. Bergholz, Jacobs University Bremen - Why the standardisation is such an important issue for the Solar PV industry?
Lazlo Fabry, Wacker Chemie - Could you let us know more about the activities of the SEMI standards committee, that is hot on the agenda?
James Amano, SEMI PV Group - Could you describe SolarPV standardisation in the US and how do you co-ordinate these activities with other continents?

Daniele Fraile, EPIA - Could you tell me what the role of EPIA is in the standardisation committee?
